Zac Dawkins, LISW-CP
Zachary “Zac” Dawkins has a background in substance use treatment, recovery support, and work with justice-involved individuals and veterans. His experience spans outpatient community mental health, correctional settings, the VA, and Drug Court, where he served as Coordinator — giving him a well-rounded understanding of recovery at every stage and system. He is trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills.
Zac found deep personal purpose in this work — a calling rooted in the belief that real, lasting change is possible, and that helping others build more fulfilling lives is some of the most meaningful work there is. That conviction shapes how he shows up with every client: metaphorically sitting beside you, not across from you, as you work together toward insight, understanding, and practical tools for managing life's challenges.
His approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered. He believes clients should lead the direction of their care, while sessions stay purposeful — grounded in collaboratively established goals, whether through psychoeducation, skills-building, or practicing new tools in real time. There's space to process and reflect, but the work stays focused on forward movement.
Zac specializes in managing mood disorders, personality disorders, and long-term recovery.
